Volunteer

Join Project Sanctuary in making a meaningful difference in the lives of over 2000 individuals each year. Our agency is dedicated to empowering and supporting those impacted by violence, prioritizing a trauma-informed approach to break the cycle.

At the heart of our services is our 24-Hour Crisis Line, offering continuous support to survivors every single day. We are always seeking compassionate individuals to join us in staffing the crisis line during overnight shifts, typically from 9:30pm-8:30am.

Other volunteer opportunities may include but are not limited to court or hospital accompaniment, helping out in the office, tabling at events, providing childcare, etc.

We warmly welcome individuals aged 18 and above who are passionate about helping others to become certified volunteer crisis counselors. Rest assured, we provide comprehensive, free training that covers various crucial topics related to sexual abuse and domestic violence. This training, totaling 80 hours, equips you with the skills needed to make a real difference.

Upon successful completion of the training and Department of Justice fingerprinting clearance, volunteers receive state certification as sexual assault/domestic violence crisis counselors. In return, we ask for a commitment of at least two nights a month on the crisis line for one year.

Your dedication will not only make a profound impact but will also serve as an invaluable contribution to our community. Come be a part of our compassionate team at Project Sanctuary and help create a safer, more supportive environment for those in need.
